Also, the download is only like 230mb, it's not a bloated piece of crud with pre-rendered video everywhere. I respect that.. good game, not to find fault, attracts. Arguably the best poker game on steam currently, would highly recommend!. I'm a bit uncertain, again. this game should get a "0" max, but we don't have that. So, I'm voting it down.It's kind of cute. There is no noticeable story; it appears you are captured by some evil guys, you see some blob (aka "Maw") in your prison, suddenly the prison ship crashes, and you end up with your new little friend travelling through the landscape, trying to go somewhere other than were you've been.The game quickly feels samey as nothing really changes. Sure, your little friend gets bigger, but that's about it in terms of character development. Certain monsters will give special abilities when eaten -- but the levels are carefully designed for these so there isn't much in terms of puzzling. You might need to be careful if you want to 100% a level -- the game starts locking paths back to make it more difficult, but it really just feels annoying. But even the levels that remain open -- at one point I was missing a single enemy, and kept walking all over the place. Or crawling, as it felt. Movement is so slow... but I couldn't find it, so eventually I gave up. I don't even know whether "100%" really does anything at all.In the end, I was just hoping that it would end soon, going through the never-changing motions, feeling more annoyed by becoming chained segments with no way back. Hence, I cannot possible give it a "+".. Beautiful yet not quite girlish. Challenging yet relaxing. Just something for a Sunday afternoon :). Playing Trials 2 is like going to a restaurant, and ordering the chili.First, you're impressed. It's pretty good! The meat is tender, the onions and beans are flavorful, the broth is robust.Then, the cook comes out and adds some Cayenne pepper, to give it just a little spice. Superb! Well done!And then the cook comes out again and adds some more Cayenne pepper. Well, I mean... why? It's quite good the way it is. You can still taste the other ingredients, and it's not bad, but things are kind of getting overwhelmed by the spice.And then the cook comes out once more and dumps a gallon if Cayenne pepper into your dish. Now you're irritated, but you know there's good chili in there, right? You take a bite, and try to ignore the spiciness, but even when you find a great big chunk of meat or something, all you can taste is spice. Spice, spice, spice.Difficulty is good in a game. A little spice is more than nice. But when your game's gimmick is that it gets so difficult that you can no longer taste the enjoyable stuff, well... what's the point? Who wants to eat THAT dish?A bad chef is one who sucks at chili. An unforgivable chef is one who ruins good chili. The same goes for game devs - good game, ruined because some idiot was all like "XTREEEEEEEM MEANS HARD, RIGHT?" I will not be purchasing any games by Red Lynx again.. Ninja Reflex just doesn't seem to pack a ton of value, and the repetitive nature of the minigames may grate on you after a while. There's also a sense that this is probably a much better game on the Wii, since that system actually requires you to use your arms like a ninja. Overall, I would say it's "Okay" about a 6\/10.. This is a great platformer/puzzle game and really enjoyed my time with it. It is a little bit reminescent of a great N64 game, the way it plays. I would not recommend the Speeder Lane DLC, but the other two were great.. A streamlined RPG with the usual penny Arcade humor and entertaining environments. Worth a run through.
